Now that is a big crappie.

Wonder if he was specifically targeting crappie or caught it by accident bass fishing. I see he was in a bass boat.

Bass fishing and having a slow day. Spotted 3 big fish suspended over 25 ft of water on his LiveScope and was able to get one to bite - turned out to be a big crappie. Thought he said underspin with swimbait, but I’d have to doublecheck.

Yes underspin with 3” or 4” paddle tail swimbait. I’m still confused as he said about 3 big ones but no mention of school. Again this might show, the big ones always stay on top of school (I think I’ve heard somewhere or bottom of school?)

I’ve got several friends that fish the professional crappie trails, and according to them, the biggest fish in the system tend to be loners, just doing there thing and often suspended out and away from most all the other fish - very similar to the biggest bass in the system. These guys just look for individual fish, and don’t worry about finding schools or groups. I’n guessing that is the case here.

3 big crappie is a group and agree the biggest fish tend to group together. That is a giant crappie.

California White crappie is 4 lbs 8 oz caught at Clear Lake.
