How to edit an older post?

Featured Replies

Wasn’t sure where to ask this.

I have some older posts that no longer have the ‘edit’ option available.

I’d like to update some older posts with new information and fix some errors in them. Is this possible?

It's a common tactic for spammers on the site, make a post and then come back later and add spam links. It was a huge problem and one that's difficult to catch, so the restriction was put in place.

I was looking for an edit button also.  Just to be clear, is a user unable to edit any posts?

There's a limited time-window in which to do it...I don't know exactly how long.

Here's a shot of the edit button...3 dots at the top of your post.

Yea, when you say something stupid you have to 1, hope no one quotes you and 2, realize it before the window to edit the post has expired.

Show of hands of all those who've missed both these?

Well....kinda.  If you've been here awhile, the greater the duration before the window closes.  New folks get all of 15 mins to make edits, for example.
