Z Man ElaZtech?

Featured Replies

I have two bags of Zman Lizardz I planned on using this spring, but they're all deformed.  Anyone know if, or how I can save these baits.  They're nice, high floaters ideal for C-rigs and I'd really like to be able to use them.

Call the company and ask if they will replace them.

The Lizards, tubes and other elaztech baits with a low salt content are really vulnerable to warping, especially the appendages.  Ive also noticed that lighter colors like watermelon will melt faster then darker colors like bama bug or black.  Ive had limited success trying to straighten them with hot water.  You have to heat it and cool it down ASAP, and I ruin as many or more then I straighten out.  If the baits are to warped to be of use you have nothing to lose, but if they are fishable I your better just using them as is and or getting a new pack.

I have tried all sorts of ways to save Elaztech baits but haven't been able to.  I often straighten out swimbait tails in boiling water but that doesn't work for Elaztech.  I did message the company and told them that I combined a couple bags and they all ended up being crooked.  They sent me 2 new bags.

Nowadays, I don't combine bags and lay them flat in a tray.  I also make sure that the baits are laying straight in the bag.

I've got some Strike King 3X lizards that I use whenever I have to fish a C-rig. I don't think I have any in the boat, but I have them. That's just my level of hatred for fishing a C-rig I guess.
