However, the term first originated by scientists in the lab that created a smallie/LMB hybrid and referred to it as such. Over time, that original definition kind of faded away and the newer one (smallie/spot) became the norm. I am not ashamed to admit I didn’t know such a thing existed.

Interesting, I had no clue they existed either. The big question is, are they sluggish like a green bass or crazy like a smallmouth?

Considering the size of those TX fish, and I think you’ll agree @12poundbass, we’d all be willing to find out! Hopefully they pull like a freight train with an ability to throw in some aerial acrobatics to keep things interesting ?
