Favorite wacky hook?

Featured Replies

Specifically Weedless. Also why do some people use ewg’s for wacky rigs is that good?

I replied in your other thread, but I like a Gamakatsu circle octopus hook. It’s not weedless, but as I normally cast a Senko WR once, let it sink and reel it in and recast, I avoid most weeds. Lifting and working it back to a boat isn’t that bad. To the bank can be nightmarish if you fish ponds like I do.

The only reason I want weedless is I keep losing my senkos on branches but would a weedless hook even help with that?

The weed-guard on a weedless wacky hook isn't terribly strong...thick weeds or branches in your case will defeat it.

Best option is to hook the worm weedless...that'll give you a better chance of deflecting off those branches.

I'm nobody, but this is my favorite, and I don't think there is anything better. Typically, I don't care for weed guard as it's never strong enough to do its putative job, except this model. It's a great hook too - once it's hooked, it's hooked as I rarely miss fish. YB(bass)MV :)

My favorite wacky hook is the VMC neko hook, I don’t know what it is about those long shank hooks but they stick them and keep them pinned.

I used to use the vmc wacky hook. It worked ok. Then @FryDog62 turned me onto the Neko hooks instead. I haven’t lost a single fish and I also haven’t deep hooked a fish either. The size 2 is ideal, but I have used other sizes and they also work.
