Just moved to Greenville, SC - Looking to meet fishermen!

Hey BR Members!

I just moved to Greenville, SC from Washington. I want to meet fishermen in the Upstate who may want to team up and fish in a club and/or tournament. Or, just make new fishing buddies all the same. I've been fishing with good amount of technical know-how for the last 10 years. my PB is just over 6lbs. I’m fairly savvy with fishing conditions, seasonal patterns, etc., but I’m definitely looking to put my skills to the test. I don't have access to a boat, but I am trying to save up for a kayak or jon boat, eventually.  I have a respectable amount of tackle for a bank angler and I will certainly add more to my arsenal soon.

Some spots that interest me are the Greer/Spartanburg County reservoirs, Lake Hartwell, Lake Keowee, Lake Jocassee and Lake Greenwood. I'm definitely open to others that are within a reasonable distance from Greenville. I've only fished around Paris Mtn. Park a bit since arriving, but I was able to catch a few decent ones in that super clear water! Saw a 4-5lber cruising the shallows as well.

I fell in love with the South when I went to UNC, and again when I met my SC-native girlfriend in DC.  I’m looking forward to meeting some great fellow bass fishermen and...  to making SC my new home!

Welcome to SC. I'm a couple hours east of you in Lancaster Co. If I were you I'd hit the Reedy River with that yak. You might even find some smallies. To your east is the Broad River that has good smallies. It's about halfway between you and me. There are also lots of trout streams in the upper state.
