I took a temporary promotion.  Super stressful.  And I commute now. (Boo!)

 

but I drove out a new exit from our office complex and THERES A FREAKING POND!  It’s an aerated decorated landscape pond.  Pretty big too!  
 

im thinking early morning frog. My friend thinks wacky senko.  
 

Ideas?  I don’t see any No fishing signs.

Definitely a senko weightless or wacky rigged.

T-rigged craw. You can cover water, hop it, drag it, swim it, soak it, or buzz it, and everything in between. 

I also vote for Senko Texas rig weightless if you don’t know the bottom on any lake.

Fish with lures you are most comfortable with and then use other lures if needed.

Big Beetle Spin .

Another vote for the beetle spin or something along those lines. For me, if I don’t know if the pond has fish I’m gonna throw that or an in-line spinner like a bang tail to find out. Other suggestions above good as well. Hopefully the reason there aren’t any no fishing signs isn’t because there are no fish in it. 

Senko, spinnerbaits, and Ned. 

Ned rig and small paddletail swimbait. If you don’t get any bites on that, probably not a good fishing spot. Those two will get the small ones and even the big ones. 

Stealth? Wear a hat, mask, dark glasses and a shirt that breaks up your form. Keep your legs together. Keep your rod to the side. You will all of the sudden not be visible to the fish. Especially facing the sun or in shade. I really think the fish are looking for eyes, noses, mouths, eyebrows, ears, hair, ^ in your legs, and a rod like / or \  basically, don’t look like Bill.

Ties on a. zoom frog. And t-rig 4” SENKO as backup.  I’ll get it up tomorrow 

now this is a absolute must, expecially with ponds you dont know about! bottom bouncing baits! why? well quite simply to feel the bottom composition, it can be a jig, trig, spinnerbait dragged on bottom I dont care lol but If you can feel the pits, humps, divits, underwater structure, wood, roots, grass, rock, whatever is down there, you will be happy. Probing the area is a good thing to do, and it will be in your memory bank forever. If you just burn a crank or spinnerbait truley, you still know nothing about the pond even if you catch a few bass. once you know the structure, BOOM, you can  pattern!

Another option is a weedless underspin, such as the Flashy swimmer, and a 2.8, or larger swimbait.

I like the Wacky idea, but I would run a chatterbait or spinnerbait through there first. You can cover a lot of water fast. I would follow up with a wacky. especially, if you get hit in an area. The more you fish it, the better you'll know it.

I raced to work this morning.  Friday.  Apparently it’s garbage day on fridays and I was stopped constantly by a truck picking up trash from homes on a two lane road.  Took forever.  I fished for about 30 minutes.  No love.  Wacky 4” senko and a frog across the mats.  Nothing.  I’ll try again.  My 6’ rod fits in the back of my giant work truck. 
The pond is very very thick with weeds.  The wacky was snagging.
