i fish a lake called blue marsh. all the creeks are all no wake zones.

I haven't fished that place since I was probably 12-13 years old back when I lived in PA. Around here, there are very few no wake zones. If there is one, its usually near the ramp, and 9 times out of 10 its the jet skis buzzing around right near the ramp. To say I have disdain for 99% of those people would be putting it lightly, but thats another discussion.

Can't tell you how many times my canoe has almost been swamped by a wakeboat going at speed INSIDE the no-wake buoy markers.   One reason I'm looking at getting a 'real' boat.   Ac

  • No wake zones are only a suggestion around here.   A local 100 acre lake I occasionally fish is all no wake. I have seen boats flying across that lake at wot. when nobody patrols the la

In california its terrible, boaters on many lakes have a 50 foot stay away from shore rule but they never follow it, its frustrating for me when I bank fish and will throw lures near their boat untill they get the message. honestly I shouldnt be surprised because its california

Lake is not too far from me. We might be in each others backyards. I don’t fish there on weekends and don’t put in at the two main launches. I refused to get frustrated also.

The last couple of seasons it seems like the state waterway guys have been nonexistent. Maybe Covid related? Short on help? Just not interested? Most likely the latter. In PA I think we are going to see things get a lot worse before it gets better.

Stocked trout is their gig here. Half decent Musky program.

I don’t want to dis the fish and boat commission because they clearly must be going through something. Covid and staff related, I don’t know. I don’t even see how Covid has anything to do with that part of state agencies. Essential or non essential. Part of law enforcement and think it would be essential.

Never gave much thought to surplus of license sold. My mind works the opposite, what about all that are fishing without a license. You don’t have to display your license anymore in PA. In my twisted way of thinking most don’t even have a license. I still keep mine visible (hat) to keep from possible interaction. My activities are legal don’t waste your time with me go do something more productive.

Last season they didn’t want any help to stock trout pre season or in season. Bit of a bummer. Have been helping with that since I was a young guy. But I can see with Covid at a high rate then why subject people. This season I did a lot of stocking. It may have been some of the biggest stockings I’ve ever seen.

Maybe like a lot of businesses as of lately they took a big hit and have to rebuild some. I seriously wish them a lot of luck. They have to get better.
