Why that size? It catches littles and bigs equally.

 

Why that color? It works for me no matter the water clarity, from clear to muddy.

 

Why that bait? It's the perfect Wacky Rig bait. It's the perfect Texas Rigged weightless plastic; it's got the weight for casting gear and the ideal fall through the water column with the classic Senko shimmy. It's best weightless, of course, but works as well as anything else Texas Rigged with a weight. You can flip it into cover and its slender profile makes it a great punching bait as well.

 

It's the most universal plastic.

I fish a green pumpkin 5" stick worm more than anything else texas rigged so I'll go with that.

7" bit down to 6" Berkely pumpkinseed power worm. Rigged on 15# Tatsu or Invisx with a 3/16 oz weight and a 3/0 round shank Gamakatsu hook.

Strike King Rage Tail Menace in green pumpkin or black/blue on a 3/0 Gammy EWG. FishOn 1/4 tungsten worm weight. 

Easy decision for me; A Grape Culprit Original 7.5in. ribbon tail. I've caught more bass on ribbon tailed worms over the years than most others combined (tubes being the exception). If I had to eliminate using them on a C-Rig I'd be throwing them with a sliding 1/4oz. tungsten bullet weight, 12lb. fluorocarbon, a 7.3:1 geared reel paired to a 7ft. MH/ModFast rod.

Great worm. I grabbed a pack on a whim. Mine might be watermelon red.  Saved my butt, one winter day. 
 

if I had to pick one. Zoom lizard.
