Got my butt whipped today...

Can usually manage at least a few bass even on tough days. This morning I threw 4 or 5 different things at em and all I could manage was a drum on a lipless. First bass skunk I've had since April.

This time of year is a bit of a transition period, I had to work pretty hard to figure out new patterns this weekend too, only things in my whole dang tackle bag that got bit were a jerkbait and a Pop-r, I think I probably could have used a fluke instead of a hard Jerkbait, but once I was on them I didn't see any reason to tempt fate lol.

That's just August, brother! Just so happens that I took the entire day off tomorrow so that I can get up really early and not catch fish for 8-10 hours. I haven't been out in three weeks and it's going to be a beautiful day without the Labor Day crowds around.  Those fish can watch me float around and be happy all day.  That's fine with me.

What a difference a day makes. Skunk yesterday. Today I caught 6...including a 3 and two 4s.

You weren't totally skunked - you got a drum.  Always good to feel a fish on the line.?  Sounds like a nice recovery though.?

I read the title wrong and had a good hearty laugh. I thought it said “ I got my butt wiped today “ . Goodness gracious
