I noticed after putting my spinning reel on the guides are a little off center to the left of the reel seat? Will this have any negative impact on the rod aside from my OCD kicking in? lol 

First loosen a little, check to see if the reel rocks in the reel seat from side to side - if you can align it, re-tighten.  

Otherwise, live with the OCD.  

It's not going to affect your cast.  

Even spiral-wrapped rods cast well.  

 

 

ps - the purpose of spiral wrap is to keep braid from digging into the blank on a heavily bent rod, like this offshore jigging rod.  

One famous Texas rodbuilder and many long-surf rodbuilders argue they cast better because they need fewer guides. 

Daiwa builds their Proteus casting rods w/ spiral wrap.

No rocking. Looks like the reel seat is just a little off center 

If it’s a new rod & it really bothers you, check with seller if you can exchange it. 

It probably won't affect the performance much, if at all.

 

Personally, I'd return it for a new one if possible. But I'm also a little OCD. 

Return it. I check all that before I buy unless it's online. No way I could fish with it.

You should return it. You should expect a flawless product when you purchase something new.

I doubt you can return it after a year. Chalk it up to a lesson learned. 

i you charged it, you might have a warranty protection plan on your card. that means the warrant of the product can be doubled in length of time, thanks to your card. there's a possible option, and a reason to charge things....
