Spinner bait Indiana blades

Featured Replies

Spinner bait indiana blades. How do I fish this correctly I know it’s mainly for shallow water but what depth would you stop using this Spinnerbait? Also do you fish it to where you can barely see the blades

Is there a “wrong” way to fish a spinnerbait? Indiana blades work at any depth, just like the other blade types. All depends on what you are trying to achieve. They’re actually a nice middle ground for fishing shallow or deep, kind of a “do it all” design IMO - very versatile.

Yeah, what Team9Nine said. All I'll say about Indiana blades is I like em. I fished a whole lot of single colorado's but when fish stopped biting that, it was time to change it up.

Had one of my best spinnerbait days ever on a single indiana

I like to slow roll those on the bottom. Good way tool for the early summer/mid-spring. I would use it from 1ft down to 15ft. Just as versatile as any other spinnerbait.

They are middle ground between a willow and colorado blade. What I have found is in pressured water they do well because nobody else is throwing them.

And I don't see too many people throwing mag willows/turtleback blades either. With so many combinations, seems easy to understand why spinnerbaits have been around for a long time

War Eagle and Terminator made those more popular. Try finding a store bait with double indiana blades once.

Nichols will make whatever you need.

I prefer double Indiana blades, less lift the Colorado and more lift then willows.

^ Those are the only ones I’ve found and I like them. But… don’t feel limited to store-bought ones. 1 pair of pliers and some spare blades and you can make anything you want. Just be careful if dealing with thin wire.

Spinnerbaits sink, so you can fish them at whatever depth you want to fish them basically. I fish them mostly in the first 5' of the water column, but that doesn't always mean shallow water fishing.

Nichols and Booyah make my favorite Indiana bladed spinnerbaits.
