Old School Balsa

Featured Replies

I'm down to 2 original Bagley B2's.  I had purchased 20 or so back in  2005 on sale at Academy. In my last TW order, I picked up a couple of B2's and was unpleasantly surprised that the B2 had gone on a diet and was slimmer/skinnier than the original.  The 'new' B2 has a body more like the killer b2.  This pic shows the new bait on top/old on the bottom.

I'm looking at the old school balsa bait company's lineup, and they look nice and right. Price is great.

Anybody tried these?  I do have quite a collection of more expensive balsa, but just can't/won't fish them as hard as the cheaper baits.

I haven't tried them, I'm a big fan of old Bagley's.   Just when I get the Bait Monkey out of my house, you send him right back to my front door.  I will have to buy a few and give them a try.  Like the perch color something different I don't have.

I have a couple of their baits.  Bought them because I wanted to try balsa baits but didn't want to pay the price of some of the other baits.  They seem to run well, and have caught a few fish on them!  Seem like good baits from my experience with them, especially for the price compared to others!

Seems like if you want a good quality balsa bait, you're going to pay for it. I get mine from a local guy, they're great baits, but they're made by hand 1 at a time and they're priced like it. They've caught me a ton of fish though and one of the few cranks that I have a lot of confidence in.
