How is the durability compared to a Super Fluke?

Probably less durable.  Reason I say that is that even though I don’t fish the Super Fluke, the DShad is made out of the same formula as a Senko.  Also my choice of rigging on a 4.0 EWG hook leaves very little of the bait just behind the hook eye where the offset shank is.  I have bitten the end off and  re-rigged the bait when the bite is fast and furious and the fish are not being picky.  You don’t want to make the mistake of putting too much bait forward of the hook or your line will cut the bait and it will rip when you retrieve it.

My “pink” care package is coming together pretty good. I’m getting a bit amped up to use it. Be a while yet to get on water. I’ll post a pic of it when I get everything. Gonna keep my baits and terminal in a Mafia bag or HD ziploc, won’t be any hunting when I go to use it.

Not sure of how I’m gonna approach pink. Maybe mix it in on any particular day, maybe start a day off with it or probably have a day(s) using nothing but pink. I’m thinking the nothing but pink is the way for me to approach it. Will force me to fish it harder. May have to offload my regular baits. I foreseen that to happen. But I’m ok with that. I’ve had to do that with other baits over the years. Admittedly I can get my head case moments.

For river smallies, best lure I’ve used is a 5 inch Caffeine Shad. Unlike the standard fluke it has an air bubble in the tail. If you throw it on an Owner Twistlock Light hook along the bank, depending on current it will basically swim on its own horizontally (unlike a regular fluke that will just nose-dive). After 4-5 seconds of swimming with the current, give it a couple twitches and it will come to life again and then continue swimming. Best colors for smallies are white, chartreuse and PINK!

Works in lakes for green bass too - even novices can catch them with pink Caffeine Shads!

Thank you. I rig my flukes on a 4/0 screw lock swimbait hook, so they're a bit more durable, but I may grab some D Shad and try them this year.

I've never tried pink, but I have had some evidence that purple can be an effective trigger.  And a color of purple is close to a color of pink (what's magenta?)

I wish there was some pink or purple "Dip-N-Dye".

Merthiolate on white plastics gets you pink.  Add blue over red to get purple.
