Ned rig tubes?

Featured Replies

I’ve been doing well on tubes recently no matter where I go. My top cold water bait has been a tube, smallies and largemouth.  No good blade bait bites, weird.

Any ways I fished from shore yesterday for an hour  at one of my favorite spots. I just recently got some BiCO ned heads. Tried out a strike king coffee tube. Looks great.  Air bubbles and the tentacles slowly moving. Got a nice small on it.

I was told from a buddy who was fishing there Sunday. The water was 43. Did good on tubes that day as well all on tubes.

Has anyone else tried this before?

I like Zmans tubes, but the skirts are prone to kinking and deformation because of the nature of elaztech.

See if you cant get some of the max scent ned tubes when they become available.

What size tube and what specific tube jigheads do you use? Sorry in advance if this is supposed to be exclusively regarding ned tubes.

It’s all good.  I cant remember the weight but I been using the  eagle claw tin tube heads waiting for my order.   I just bought some lead free bass jigs tube heads in 1/4 both 90 and 60 degree.   Both come in 10 packs.

The only tube I use is the strike king pro model 3.5 inch. I use all the darker colors! Absolutely love them, I won’t ever use another tube bait unless it’s the smaller strike king 2.5 inch

Get the Zman TRD TicklerZ over their TRD Tubez. The material is so sticky that the tentacles just stay stuck together with those tiny tubes and do nothing. The Ticklerz only has 4 thicker arms that don't stick together. I caught a couple of my biggest smallmouth of the year on the purple death Ticklerz.

*For the ZMan TicklerZ and TubeZ : I wonder if you can dip the tentacles in hot water to straighten them out ? I do that with Zoom Super Flukes to straighten out the tails but of course the Super Fluke is made from different soft plastic.

Do you mean to keep them from sticking? The Ticklerz doesn't have that problem, I don't think it would do anything for the TRD Tubez.

I have used the zman tubez a few times.  The advantage they have is their durability.

I did snag a couple of Berkley Maxscent Tubes recently when they were in stock.  Looking forward to trying them next season.

I'm really looking forward to trying these things out myself if I can get ahold of some.

I use the bass pro magnum tubes...green pumpkin blue.

*No , to straighten if the tube tenacles are crooked in the pack .

They're too thin, they just stretch out or melt together and set.

I started using jigs other than those designed for tubes when I started using smaller tubes and couldn't find tube jigs with small enough hooks.

I'll tell you something else I do...I'll use a ball head (or whatever) and just thread the tube on behind the head. It has a little different action but sometimes the bass just go nuts for it. You might want to use a drop of glue to help hold it on. And you don't have to retie every time you need a new plastic.

I use ned jigs when I run out of tube jigs. I like Get Bit tubes, and have dipped my own on occasion.

I haven't had any issue with the tube tentacles getting bent in the package. The problem is they're so thin and sticky, they just stay in one clump together and don't do anything in the water. The Ticklerz 4 bigger arms at least stay away from each other.

I do this technique all the time with Strike King bitsy tubes in the small creeks and rivers around my house. I wear them out however it seems to be better for numbers and not size
