Megabass Vision 110 (+1, +2) vs 110 Jr. (+1)

Featured Replies

The Juniors have been out a good while now.  How do people feel about them versus the 1/2 original?  I have some BPS gift cards from Christmas already, and they burning a hole in my pocket.  I am going to pick up a couple of one or the other.  Any input would be appreciated.

they are pretty much the same action etc. sometimes the bass just seem to like the smaller bait. probably depends on the size of bait they are used to feeding on.

Love me the original 110 +1.

I think the Jr's may have their time and place but I do not think I will purchase any more as I cannot cover as much water (casting distance) and do not think it adds more fish or better quality fish.

BUT If I am having a rough day with the 110+1 sure I will tie on the Jr. and see if I can get some more fish.  So I guess it has its time and place.

From my limited experience on water with SM- I will say smallmouth love the Jrs.  I do not have spots in the lakes that I fish frequently.

The 110+1 Jr was great for me right out of the gate

and continued to produce right alongside the standard size baits.

Not saying it's better but it's definitely Not Worse.

YMMV

The Jr is solid when they want a smaller bait. It still cast just fine on casting gear too, so that's nice.

I've not fished the +2 much. Our lakes are so shallow that there aren't many situations that call for a jerkbait that runs that deep.

The Junior is pretty much the same as the regular Vision, just smaller.   As far as the +1 and +2, they tend to pull back a little or at least that's the way it feels when fishing them.   I only have one +2 and it seems to fish deeper than it's rated, 20 feet easy.  I tried trolling with it and it seemed to just go deeper the longer I left it out, plus it didn't catch any fish.  When fishing it like any other 110, I had the best success with long pauses, like 5-10 seconds.

This is the version that I am leaning towards for precisely this reason.  I do not have any jerkbaits that go this deep and the Vision Oneten +2 seems to be special in how deep it goes while maintaining good action.  While I fish deep, manmade reservoirs, my hesitation is that I am unsure if I need one that goes that deep.  Typically speaking, jerkbaits draw them up form deeper water.

Try a LC pointer 95 as your “junior.”
