Sounds like a good time! It would have to be a for sure thing with decent attendance for me to pull my boat out of state from San Antonio though ?. Half of most of these long trips is just getting out of Texas!

Pull your boat south.  Don't forget your passport and heavy line.

So is anybody down for a meetup maybe this summer? Late summer? Spring?

I'm boatless at the moment. Been debating trading the motorcycle for something. But obviously down to pay for gas and drinks of choice??

I’m sure I could swing a weekend. I’ve Got lots of vessels

This is correct.

One year, we had 2 unofficial road trips - One to Toledo Bend and the other to Kentucky Lake. And yeah....Toledo Bend has gators...at least one that I can swear to.  He looked much  bigger in person than he looks in the pic.  Either way....I think if there are small ones there must be bigger ones too. I got there early and went out fishing.......just plugging along the bank and I come up to a grass mat....That is when I saw it. No more than a rod length away. He was just laying there motionless. That Skeered the bagibbes out of me.

After that, I horsed almost every fish on the boat thinking there might be a gator coming 'fer my fish about the time I was lipping him.

Lot's of people hopped on board......then they just drop off.

Unfortunately, life happens and you have to change plans.

I would be up to road trip...providing there were no calendar conflicts.

I tried to put together an unofficial one on Table Rock several years ago and I think 5 or 6 people showed up. Kind of how it usually goes, a bunch of people were interested at first, then they drop off one by one until there's barely enough people left to make worth the trip other than for the fishing.

That's a baby! Not as fearsome as momma, but a pain in the rump because they are usually fearless and don't know any better. Once I had one of them chase my catch out of the water. I'm running around the bank, dragging a 2 pounder with the juvenile gator coming after me while some guy is yelling to my son, "Your dad is getting chased by an alligator!"

Luckily, the gator stopped when he reached my tackle bag. It took a while before he went back in the water. But I'm glad he didn't try to eat me or my tackle bag.

Ha, my buddy caught a baby gator this summer on a frog. Fishing from the bank he made a cast parallel to the bank but the bushes blocked his view. Heard a splash and felt the pull, sets the hook and reels in about a 2’ baby gator. The hook was safely removed but we got out of that spot cause where there’s little ones, there’s big ones!

That is what concerned me.
