I have tons of worms robo worms, Trick worm and netbet t-Mac worms all sizes all natural colors, but no true floating worms is there a difference are there worms you can use for a floating worm that is not marketed for it?

Usually when people use floating worms they are talking about a zoom trick worm, there are several other worms that look nearly identical made by other brands but most use a zoom trick worm in the merthiolate color or bubblegum, white and yellow are some other popular colors. Im not too sure on the history of it but there used to be many companies that made floating worms or lizards, slug-o etc...

As long as the worm youre throwing is a narrow body worm with a bit of a "bulb" on the tail it should produce the desired action.

zoom offers a floating trick worm, the Z3. and there are others. 

Try the x zone deception worm out 

To me a floating worm doesn't necessarily need to float, it just shouldn't sink really fast.  I also think a pointed head is a big factor in getting that erratic action.

Some folks like a floating worm for  a shakey head. But you can fish any worm on one.

 

Zman has a floating worm and it works great. Limited amount of colors but it 100% floats.

  

Fishing a floating worm is more of a technique, not just an individual worm that floats. We fish them alot in our local rivers, work the bait slowly, keep it 12" or less in the water column so you can visually see it, and just twitch it back to the boat.
