Soft plastic ID?

Featured Replies

Found a couple of these on the ground yesterday at one of my fishing spots that some knucklehead decided he was too good to throw away properly. Picked them up to dispose of and thought they looked interesting, but didn't see them in the creature baits on Tackle Warehouse. Anyone know what they are? I feel like the eye pattern on the head is familiar but I can't place it.

Apologies for the picture quality, main lens on my phone is a bit damaged, but hopefully the bait is clear enough.

Looks like a Googan trench hawg to me, almost threw up in my mouth typing that!

That's what I thought it was when I saw it on the ground, once I picked it up I realized it was something different. Unless they've changed the design?

It's from the YUM bin at Wal-Mart. I have a few bags of them but they're just labeled "creature".

Thanks, I'll check out the bin next time I'm in the area. Don't see it listed in their site but that doesn't mean much. I knew the eye pattern was familiar, definitely a YUM look.

They make lots of stuff for those bins that they don't offer anywhere else.

Hmmm, maybe I should stop in Walmart more often then (the unthinkable). This seemed much higher quality than YUM's usual offerings. If the undamaged lure looks good, I'll definitely be giving them a try.

yum's quality is pretty outstanding given their price point

It was not a comment meant to disparage them, you are correct that they produce quality plastics that get bit for the price.

Not everything in those yum bags in the bargain bin at Walmart are actually yum.  I've picked up several gene Larew swimbaits and grubs in those yum bags...unopened amd still sealed.  Repackaged baits
