I recently bought a 2021 Skeeter ZX150 with a 150 SHO on the back. I have limited experience with the ride of a fiberglass bass boat but have noticed that my Skeeter does not like to go slow unless trimmed fully down. If I am on plane at under 30 mph, I need to be basically fully trimmed down or else the boat will start porpoising (bow bouncing up and down). Is this common with many other bass boat brands? I have a lot of experience with aluminum bass boats and other fiberglass center consoles and have never experienced this. Is there something that can be done with weight distribution or maybe adjusting the height of the manual jack plate?

Sounds about right. 

While my G3 doesn’t go 30 that I know of (50hp) trimmed down for too long it’ll porpoise pretty good! 

Might have to get the motor height adjusted

Weight distribution, wrong prop and engine height all can cause proposing.

The engine is lifting the bow and coming back down because too much weight in the stern (livewells filled with water), the engine is too deep in the water (should be 3 1/2 “ prop shaft parallel to plane surface or the under pitch prop.

If all those things were set up properly it’s driver skill learning curve.

@BadFishesOnly It’s been my experience that is you have enough water under the hull at low speeds you trim the motor down. It allows for a better hole shot and allows for better maneuvering. Otherwise as you found out the boat will start to porpoise. It’s part of the learning curve of familiarizing yourself with a new boat on how it performs and handles.
