2017 crestliner 1600

Featured Replies

So I've found a 2017 crestliner 1600 for sale near me. The boat has a mercury 40 horse with only 41 hours on it. They want 16800 out the door with sales tax. I live in Maine so it seems like a decent price. Any feedback on the longevity of these boats cant find much online about them.

Thank you guys again always help so much. and would this be better than a tracker classic xl

They make good boats. You may find 16’  to be a bit small though

My old man has had a Crestliner since 2001. Other than some of the marine carpet the boat still runs as it should and is in pretty good shape. Nothing major has failed him for 20 years in that boat. It’s a 1775 Crestliner Fish Hawk tiller.

16 feet is relatively small but I bet it moves good with a 40 hp outboard. Probably comparable to the tracker classic.

Kind of a loaded question. What kind of lakes or rivers do you mostly fish? Do you normally fish alone or with someone else? What kind of towing capacity do you have? Just items to keep in mind. Used boats in good shape are tough to come by right now. If you find the boat too small in the future, you could always re-sell it and upgrade.

I have a full size truck towing isn’t a issue, I typically fish with another person and sometimes alone, I typically fish ponds, small lakes and rivers nothing huge I live in Maine so we don’t have many big bodies of water

Nice little boat. Storage is not dry so be mindful to prevent mildew and rust if you fish in the rain.

I use a 16' tin bassboat in rivers, small lakes and Lake Lanier and feel very safe.  I don't fish on weekends when all the big cruisers are out on Lanier.

I fished out of a 1448 jon boat with no issues and then switched to a tracker 175 with no issues.

if you never had bigger you won’t know what you’re missing. Kind of like a car, you don’t normally go smaller once you’ve had bigger.

if it’s your first boat you won’t have it forever anyways, if it’s solid go for it

That's great.

Congrats!  I love mine, it's a great 2 man boat and for it's size, has a pretty good amount of storage and both anglers have plenty of deck space.  I run a 20 so I can get on restricted lakes in my area but I can get it to 22mph so with that 40, that thing will run great.

I have rigged mine with a new TM, Finders, Livescope and Lithiums so if you have any questions, I probably have experience so don't hesitate to reach out.

I appreciate it I'm thinking of putting a Lowrance reveal hook 7 on the front and thats all for now anything you did that you really like?

I like it all! :)

I was able to squeeze a 10" Garmin Echomap recessed into the console.  It wasn't easy! it took some finesse and creativity but it worked out really nice.  A GPSMap 8610 would have fit easier but the $1600 difference between the two models made the choice for me.

I also have the same 10" model at the bow with Livescope and a heading sensor tied in to show me true boat position in relation to my targets.

Id love to do something like that when the budget allows but for now i put a lowrance reveal 7 on the front and am working with that, Any suggestions on tuning the motor guide trolling motor it seems like it takes alot pressure to steer and then gets caught up and almost over steers very hard to be smooth

I took the motoroguide TM off the day I got it home so it never seen water.  I knew I wanted an Ultrex and bought one a couple weeks before even buying the boat.
