Cool Feature of Seaguar Invizx?

Featured Replies

Hey all,

Recently updated the fluoro on one of my reels from Seaguar Red label or Barkley Vanish (can't remember) to Seaguar Invizx. I have fished a local creek a few times now, and I noticed something... even after a 4 hour session in chocolate milk yesterday, the Invizx doesn't seem to have "picked up" any of the color of the water. At all. It's still nice & clear, not green or brown or yellowish even.

This has not been the case with other fluorocarbon lines.

Have you guys experienced anything similar, or am I crazy?

Thanks - much appreciated. So far I'm really impressed with this stuff... landed a 20" smallie on it the other morning and 2 others right around 18" on a jerkbait! (The day BEFORE I fished the chocolate milk...)

That’s cool. Invisx was real good to me when I used it. Abrasx also decent. Never tried Tatsu. Still a mono user but satisfied enough with my experiences with Seaguar fluoro.

I do like me some mono from time to time... the fight sure is fun as long as I get a good hookset!

Berkeley Vanish has more memory than I've ever had.

Seaguar would be a great improvement as would Sunline. Imo

It also makes your lures Vanish as they fly off into the sunset when the line snaps on a cast

Vanish, IMO, should be relegated to the trash-bin.

I'm primarily a Red Label user with a couple BC'ers spooled with Invisx. The most notable difference I've seen is cost.

Yeah I have a few stories like that... lol... so sorry for your loss ;)

Thanks man, I hear ya - this is on a spinning rod and I can say so far there is a huge difference (a massive reduction) in my line jumping off the spool. I was not a believer until I started using the stuff - still love Red Label for my leaders though. Good stuff.

Not only that, but losing fish on vanish is very probable. The should rename vanish to poof because that’s what will happen. Fish on, then poof!!! Line breaks and fish gone.

Vanish never lasted long enough on my reel to get memory. It's almost like the line dissolves in water - that is you throw it in the lake, and it disappears.

I was using a 20 lb Vanish leader this morning and no joke - I broke it off on a nice largemouth... probably user error, overly aggressive hookset... but still... I chuckled because of this conversation :D

Whoopsy.

I have some old rolls left from years ago and use it for backing...... it's ideal for that. Lol

You're just trying to make me feel better... and it worked, thanks.

Ain’t trilene 100% fluoro supposed to be decent stuff? How Berkeley puts their name on something like Vanish boggles my mind.

The user error was buying Vanish.

Rarely have issues with pretty much any other line.

The coolest feature of Invisx, or any FC for that matter is that it costs at least 5 times as much as Big Game and doesn't catch anymore fish unless you're fishing in extremely clear water.

I drank the FC Kool Aid when first came out many years ago.  Careful study indicated to me that I was wasting my money.  Our average water clarity here in western Missouri is a couple feet.  Four feet is pretty darn clear.  Green Big Game at about $15/mile depending on test works for me.

I appreciate the input my man, but Big Game has so much memory it's definitely not for me. The Invisx I've been using is super strong and manageable and in the crystal clear streams I've been fishing (on days when it's not blown out), thick green mono would spook 'em for sure.

How much cover do you use it in when fishing in MO? You working thick muck like we here get in our IL lakes?

Thanks.
