Is this a legit JDM site?

Asian Portal is 100% reliable, though their communication is lousy.

Unless you have a Fed-Ex log-in, or follow your order on their site log-in, you may not know about status and shipping.

It's really simple, most Japan vendors contract interpreters, and e-mails have to be forwarded around.

If they have what you want in stock, you may want to grab it.  Stock is always the toughest part.  Shopping around, you may find a better price. And again, can't buy OOS.

I have bought Valleyhill and Smith Ltd rods from AP, along with a half-dozen reels, + lures, tuning parts, lines...

You won't get a us warranty because its not a usdm rod.  You would have to buy that model through a us megabass retailer that has imported it to the states like the tackle trap if you want a jdm model with us warranty.  You'll pay a lot more because you are paying the us price with is much higher than the Japanese price and most us retailers pretty much sell at msrp.  So yes its legit and the cost savings is from a favorable exchange rate and heavy sales these vendors offer however you won't get a us warranty.

Yes they’re legit. You can sleep peacefully ordering from them.

The U.S. dollar goes a long way against the yen right now.

I have ordered from them a few times.  Their site is weird but they are legit. Shipping is usually pretty good. It takes about a week to get stuff but there have been times when I have received a reel in 3 days.

Just bought a Tenryu Lunakia from them. They're legit.

Hey, @bulldog1935, I'm trying to track down a 2018 Graphiteleader Corto 7'4. You're a bit of a Guru at this sort of thing. Can you point me in the right direction?

They're even OOS in Switzerland...

6'10" shows up on ebay.

If you want my highest recommendation, look for Yamaga Blanks Blue Current III 74 to show up at Plat - or contact Plat to reserve one from the next run.

Or for more cost effective, NS Black Hole makes a 7'6" tubular tip - they are aimed at Japan market, and Korean rods in that market have to try harder by giving more for the price.  This seller drop-ships from Seoul.

This is the 8' NS Black Hole Rockfish, which has landed doubles with seatrout, redfish, and snook.

@Tail Slap may chime in - he's bought some higher-grade NS Black Hole rods.

Yes on a recommedation from @bulldog1935 I picked up a N.S. Black Hole Rod from a ebay seller Chovin.  It was the Taifun-s UL632 trout rod.  I think it was mid $200s but had the quality and finish of easily a high $300s JPN rod.  Very good quality finish. At 6'3" 2.8oz is a good ul weight.  Very happy with it.

I havevcaught numerous brook brown and rainbow trout.  Largest being around 6½lbs.

I can full vouch for @bulldog1935's recommendations.
