This might be a dumb question but when Texas rigging a strike king rage craw, is the hook supposed to rest in the slit that’s on the bait or is that where I insert the hook and then it comes out the other side.?I’ve seen it rigged both ways and didn’t know if there was one right way to do this. 

When new I use the point in the slot with the point embedded just enough to not snag weeds. As they get beat up I end up flipping them over and not using the slot for the point.

I use a 4/0 Gamakatsu or Owner EWG

Rig them so the the hooks point is inserted into the tail

and comes out the bottom (bottom Pic)

and then penetrates the bottom in the slot (bottom pic again)

and comes out the top (top pic)

Usually right behind the claws, if I'm using the bait whole.

Hope that makes sense.

Same…I rig with the shank on the bottom and hook point on top where the eyes are.

Either works, once it starts to tear I flip them over, and then I go vertical, fish don't care.

Same here

Believe the slot is there for the hook to collapse into the bait on a bite. Effectively allowing a wider hook gap on hook-up.

thanks everyone for the clarification.  i just overthink it all and want to make sure ive got the right setups when out there.

You can see one side of the bait has eyes, thought I doubt bass can see that. Anyway, I just rig it as I would a T rigged worm, eyes up. You can rig it on a plain, weedless jig hook if you wish. It catches the heck out of them. But the T rig is more weedless. Here's a tip: The Rage Bug skips a lot easier.
