Accidental Rod purchase.

Featured Replies

Was on ebay and was watching a Poison Adrena. I was messing around trying to figure out how much the other bidders highest price was. I submitted a bid and it instantly told me to resubmit as I was outbid. I DIDN'T resubmit a higher bid and actually got a message stating I missed out on this one. A few seconds later I got a message saying I won the auction. So, I have another Poison Adrena headed my way. Brian.

Accidental?  More like Freudian.  Tell me...when you look at a Poison Adrena do you think of your mother?

In the words of my wife….”accidental bid?? Sure….just like that time you accidentally fell into that blonde at the bar?”

I would suggest for future accidents on tackle purchases…that the “someone hacked into my account and bought me a rod” is more plausible.

In the words of a wise airline captain…”the ones we planned are great…but the ones we didn’t plan….boy they turned out to be real special.”

Enjoy the rod!!!

Same here, I am also seriously thinking about accidentally ordering a poison glorious from Japan. I just need to accidentally compare the prices on different JDM sites, and accidentally wait for the model I want back in stock while the exchange rate accidentally getting even lower. Fingers accidentally crossed!

Ebay sellers can also shill-bid with a 2nd log-in.

He may have been trying to drive his price up, decided he'd sell to you for your bid.

This is Most Probable.

I found out that this happens all the time, not only on ebay but also on Amazon and TW...

I wish I was lucky enough to have an accident where I end up with a new rod.

I had an accident with a rod the other day....caused me to accidentally have a new dummy spooling rod.

I like your accident better.

I actually got it for $18 less than my bid. So, I think your theory is possible or whoever else was bidding pulled their bid. Brian.

How often does stuff like this happen on the auction site?  I'd be annoyed if after the bidding has closed without me being the high bidder, I subsequently recieved a notice stating that I was high bidder.  Doesn't give one confidence in their platform.

I don't think you are held to it once you are outbid and can dispute it. Too many times people give up after being outbid and go bid on a different auction and would be stuck with two of the same item if that were the case.
