I don't think I have any idea how to work a dropshot into how I fish, tbh.

It’s just like fishing with a worm on the bottom except you hook more of the bites (and don’t move it nearly as much)

Never considered fishing a dropshot without having the weight on the bottom.   I think I'd have a very hard time presenting at right depth

I've only tried it a couple times, and both of those were from the bank, and that didn't seem to work super well. But my experiences there kind of made me wonder if it wasn't a better use of my time to just float a finesse worm down to them. So that's usually what I end up doing.

I think I've got it in my head that it's a way more strictly vertical presentation than it really has to be.

I hope this makes sense, but I've had the best luck when either a) I know there should be fish there and I have no bites. It's on the backup plan. Or b) when they are on the bottom but... feeding up. Like a halfass bite or two on a t-rig or a jig, bite here or there on a crankbait, but not much pattern. Something about it just sitting suspended has been a lightswitch for me sometimes. Doesn't take long to get the bite either.

Over looked by very effective for suspended bass are 1/8 oz dart head jigs with finesse 4 1/2” curl tail worms.
