If it was your combo, How would you do it?

I have this lines at home and I dont want to buy anything. I want to do it with what I have. Will you do braid backing yes 30lb or 65lb? or straight fluorocarbon ? which line test? 12lb or 20lb?

This is a travel rod and I just use it once a week when I am going trout fishing for catch some bas same time while waiting for trout to bite.

Realize that rod is rated 1/4oz-7/8oz....I wouldn't use it for trout.

 

But if you are chasing trout with that - braid backing, yes, and the 12# test.

No I am using it for bass while doing bait and wait for trout. so I do two fishing at the same time. I am also thinking of 12lb, I think thats the best for this rod rating.

I back all my reels with whatever I have left over so based on the puzzle you have......

 

20lb for backing > 30lb braid as main line > 12lb Tatsu for leader

 

I have tried backing my reels with braid and I didn't care for it. This will also save the Tatsu for your regular fishing and it will give some more versatility with bass and trout. 

 

Based on the rod I would go 12 lb fluoro. 

I would back with the big stuff to make a low-mass arbor on the spool for the lighter working lines. 

Use anything for backing/main line as long as the 12lb. Tatsu is at the business end.

I spooled it all the way 12lb Tatsu, No braid backing, 130Yards 12lb. Thanks a lot for helping me make my decision.
