'Used' in Amazon's case means 'Someone bought this, decided they didn't want it after all and returned it.' I've bought a number of 'used' things from Amazon Warehouse...the box might be a little dinged up, but the item inside is new with full warranty (where applicable).

I did not know this. Obviously I didn’t figure someone used the fishing line and re-spooled it. Good to know for other products.
