Shocked at what I found in the spool

Featured Replies

Today I was doing my typical winter maintenance and getting ready for a trip to Texas in March.  I was changing out the line on a Tatula and found this near the end of a spool of Yo-Zuri Hybrid.  I'm glad that the spool was nearly empty and my reel was nearly full or I would be even more unhappy.  Someone must have been working on a Friday afternoon and didn't care.

Wow. That’s two seconds of snipping.

My guess is they had a break while extruding, then missed it when transferring from the master spool to the smaller saleable spools.

We have a braiding department where I work, and this is a common occurrence to keep the equipment running, but just got missed when preparing the final product.

In our braiding process they usually mark the area so it is easily visible later. Nothing here may mean someone forgot to mark it and it got missed later.

Thank you for that explanation.  That's really interesting and actually makes me feel better about it.  I only use two kinds of line on my baitcasters, Yo-Zuri Hybrid and braid.

What would suk is if you were 2/3 into filling your reel spool.

Yeah, I'm gonna lay the points and say that's not what happened though...

Agreed! Might be interesting to send the pictures to either the manufacturer or to where you bought it and see if you get a response.

Who knows,.. Maybe you can get a replacement spool??
