first time i decided to try catching a muskie i arrived at a spot i usually catfish and rge sun was barely dusk my first cast was with a 6 inch white spook using the walk the dog method and hooked a 5 foot muskie when i got it close ro shore it shook its massive head and rook off so fast the treble hooks straigtend right out and i lost that beast my heart was pounding for the next two hours i could belive how huge the mout was on that fish. i never cought a muskie close to that size again yet anyway

I fish for pike on my kayak and there is a chance for musky. I switch trebles for inline singles (i may leave the front treble). I bring gloves and lots of release tools. 
 

for the net practice the technique of putting the handle under your leg so you can unhook the fish on the side in the water. I find long handles get in the way and decided to get an xl sized net. Ego nets lets you buy the parts separately so i have a floating 18” handle on the xl net head.
