10 Pound Braid

Featured Replies

Does anyone have first hand experience with both Cortland MasterBraid in 10 pound breaking strength and Sufix 832 braid in 10 pound?

Is one any better than the other?

Thank you in advance

I run 10lb. Suffix 832 with Seaguar gold leader for my finesses set up. Works great for me.

I have used cortland master braid 80lb and suffix 832 80lb for musky. I know it isn’t 10lb but, I think the cortland cast smoother and is a lot softer and flexible then the 832. As far as strength I’d say master braid is slightly stronger. I have no classroom evidence of this though.

personally for bass I run 832 10lb or higher. I wouldn’t really consider changing either.

832 is ok. I run 10-15lb original power pro on my spinning reel

Swap the Gold for InvizX and that's my setup.

I just put 10 lb 832 on my bfs reel after liking it in 30 and 50 on other rods. I really like it as a line and I’ll put it on my spinning reels when the yozuri on them is done. It’s like using sewing thread it’s so fine and limp compared to 4 carrier.

Sufix underrates their line strengths. 10# 832 has the same diameter as PP 15. Their monos are the same way.

Thanks everyone, I have been running 832 for a very long time, was thinking of trying something new, but I can't say anything bad about 832 at all. I have used MasterBraid but only in 65 or 80 pound, it was good stuff, but knots are very hard to tighten compared to 832 and it's definitely a "wetter" line, in 10 pound though these things would be much less noticeable I imagine.

Thanks again!
