Bassman33,

Any chance you can post some better pictures of how you made that seat bracket? Thanks.

New here! Joined because this seems to be the best bass raider resource on the internets. Got mine 3 weeks ago and almost have it ready to go. After getting my ancient TM out of storage its not worth repairing...

Save that old TM & modify it to be a rudder, it makes a big difference when you have the working TM in the front.  I believe there are a few posts about how different folks converted old TM's into rudders.  I cut off the old motor housing & used a Bullnose Rudder (https://www.fishntech.com/bullnose_rudder.html) in its place, it works like a charm.

Another new guy here. Just finished with my bow mount for my Motor Guide X3. Will use same unit on my jon boat so it’s easily removable. No need to buy a quick release bracket. Two holes were drilled in Motorguide base and then threaded. Screw in the bolts and they are now studs. Simply drop onto the new mount and secure with wing nuts.

First time welding, so go easy on my welds ?

Wow, that looks awesome. I've been brainstorming on how to put a bow mounted trolling motor on my raider.  Actually thought about getting the Motorguide Bulldog but kind of hesitant on that.  Do you use your boat by yourself?  The bracket is nice but looks pretty big.

Haha, actually my good friend fabricated the bracket. I imagine if there was enough interest he might consider making up a batch.

The bracket looks bigger than it is, especially in that one picture.  I plan on fishing solo and with a partner at times. Still figuring out how I want my seat set up. I want to go with a power pedestal so I can stand or sit.

1 or 2 batteries? I'm adding a fish finder and not sure if I should use the deep cycle main battery to operate fish finder and trolling motor...traxxis 55...or use a separate f f battery. The main battery has never gone below 2/3rds charge after 4-5 hrs of stop and go fishing, not sure of the amp draw of f f...Thanks for some input.

1 battery should be plenty

Would love to see the finished product.  Maybe a video or come pick me up we can go fishing!!!  LOL!!!!  Just kidding, kind of.  You did an awesome job and it looks great!!!  Good luck with everything.

Another newbie on this thread....

I bought an old Pelican....the model before they came up with the Bass Raider moniker, I believe.   Bought it from a fellow that made numerous modifications electrically.   I love this little boat, but it must be 15 years old and the paint is pealing badly.  (new ones I've seen don't look painted at all).

Any suggestions for how to re-paint the craft?   Would I need to fully strip all excess before painting?    What kind of paint would be required?   Any suggestions?

just researched....I must have an original Bass Raider from 2006....somebody painted over all of the decals.     Still curious about suggestions re re-painting...kind of paint, prep needed.

Don't know what you are talking about......those are great looking welds

So ended up with a 31 group battery, that paired with my endura 40 TM it scoots across the water good. Did find out not to try and load this on a steep boat ramp, most areas ill go will have bank access. Good test run to figure out loading configuration. AahubRd.jpgzsCjyTd.jpg

That awsome, really hoping to pick one up next spring lots of small ponds   Around here that would be perfect for. Good luck with it.

Hello everyone, been awhile...been busy with life.

I still have my Bass Raider.

Anyone located on the Eastern Shore near Salisbury Maryland?  Wanted to see if there were any Bass Raider owners near me.

Good to see people still posting about these boats.  They are great!

So mine's not nearly as purdy as the rest of yall's but she does the job quite well for what I need. Bought it years ago for like 100 bucks from some guys back yard. I think it's an old model bass hunter or something like that. Either way it floats and the thing is virtually indestructible. I leave it in the river behind my house where you see it most of the time. In fact I accidentally left it in the water back there last winter and the river actually froze with the boat in it lol. Spring came and it thawed right out and kept on floating right there. Prior to that it sat in that guys yard out in the elements for like 10 years.

I'm pretty sure that thing will remain in tact for the rest of my life unless I take a shotgun to it or something lol. Not even a crack in it...

Anyway, here's a few pics from this morning. Nothing fancy, no mods, most of my fishing money is spent on my kayak, I just toss random stuff in the little bass boat and roll out.

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and it's been awesome reading comments and seeing your pics...I'm about to go pick up my first bass raider 10E.  I will be hauling it in the back of my truck, and I was wondering if there's any pointers you got that I may need to know as far as loading/transporting it goes?

What size truck to you have? Full size or midsize? If full size then it should fit in the back no problem but if you have a Ranger or a Tacoma or something then the pontoons will have to sit above the wheel humps in the bed.

As far as loading it goes simply lift it front end up and set it on the tailgate. Keep one hand on it as you transition to the rear to lift it up as they tend to slide back in that position. Lift the back end up and slide her on in there and strap it down. Unload the same way. Just remember to always keep a hand on it while you are moving to lift it up or slide it out when it's on the tailgate.

You can either bungee the seat down while it's on the boat in your truck bed or remove the seat and stick it in the cab if you have room.

Enjoy! These little boats are fantastic.

Thanks for the advice!  I have a full size truck, I'm mostly concerned about losing seats, or anything else while I drive, so thanks again!

It will take a few trial runs to figure out the best way to launch/load depending on your lake etc. I use bungee cords or rope attached to the front handles, while standing in the bed, and just lift it up into the bed. If the lake has a dock I don’t get wet one bit. Let it out into the water the same way, just slide it out with bungee cords, step to the dock and tie it on. I leave the seat in it along with the rods strapped in, the less stuff to bring in and out the easier it is.

I leave the seat on for transportation but have it secured with a bungee cord that has caribiners on each end. One on the seat, one on a front handle. Then I use cam style tie downs for the rear of the truck, and bungee cords on all 4 corners.

Hello to all. This is my first post, and will be purchasing a 10e soon. I am new here, but have been following a lot of posts on the bass raider mods on this forum for some time now, gearing up for next year. I was particularly interested in the rudder build/installation of dman in this pic. Not sure if that info is somewhere else, but I haven't seen it yet. I apologize if I haven't used my search engine enough.

Hey There,

I got that rudder from a website that is long gone , unfortunately. I think I paid about $45 for it.  I've been asked about it a lot so if there is any metal fabricators out there, I can provide pics and measurements.
