UPDATE!!! SORRY EVERYONE but Photobucket wants me to spend 399 dollars to host my pictures...I just refuse to do that!  You can still check the pics out with this link: http://s709.photobucket.co

  • Picked up my bass raider 3 or 4 months ago and I absolutely love it.  I did a bunch of mods including a casting deck and the deck is rock solid.  It's 3x more stable on my deck than standing in some o

not bad man, its smooth, but for the money i would have gone a whole different route. gotten me a wide john boat with trailer and rigged it the way i wanted. this boat is great dont get me wrong, but no trailer, its pre molded so i have to rig around that. i dunno i think i could gotten something else that would of worked better for the money that ive spent and will put into this boat.  but if you want a two man plastic boat, its hard to beat this one. im a huge dude and it feels safe as can be with me in the front.

I just bought the last 10e from my local ****'s the other day for $499. I can't wait to set mine up like most of you have done. What I have seen in some of those pictures is absolutely amazing.

Academy has the 8 footer on sale for $329 and i'm really thinking about pulling the trigger. I mostly fish small ponds and I mostly fish by myself. How stable are these things, I do not want to end up in the water.

How easy is it to load and unload one of these by yourself? Would I be able to get it on top of my car by myself?

I have the 10e and I don't think I could put it on top of a car by myself. I can put it in the back of my truck but probably couldn't lift it over my head like that. If you are looking for something you can put on top of your car I would get a kayak...

I've tried fishing from a kayak, not a big fan.

I guess I'll keep looking on craigslist for something with a trailer.

Jax I use my 8ft everyday in a small lake. I love it. If you are planning on fishing by yourself its perfect for ponds. If you are going to have another person with I would get the 10 footer. Its crowded and has a little wobbly feel to it with 2 people in the 8ft. I have friends come over and fish in it with me every once in a while and we manage but the 10 foot would be more accommodating for that. If you do buy one I highly recommend you buy an anchor. The 8ft will blow around like crazy with any winds over 10mph. I tie on a 8lb mushroom anchor to the seat bracket and drop it at every spot I fish. I'm usually fishing in 6ft of water and don't use more then 10ft of rope most of the time. The boat only weighs 87lbs so you wont need much anchor weight. I even anchor with no wind because if you hook a decent fish it can move the boat 10ft or so just from reeling it in. As for putting it on top of the car it can be done with one person. A truck would be ideal though. I would just wrap a moving blanket around the boat and tie something around the boat to hold the blanket on. You should have no trouble sliding it over the trunk and on top of the roof by yourself. If you got the 10 footer you can forget about trying to put that on top of your car. I think the 8ft could be done though.

Yeah I think I've ruled out the 8 footer. Everyone always says it's cramped for 2 people.

I'm going to look at this today. It's not a bass raider but it's a similar plastic boat.

I got it for $450. I really like it, perfect for what I need it for.

You robbed that guy. If you want to remove the paint and the camo is spray painted on you might want to try using Mötsenböcker’s Lift Off Spray Paint Graffiti Remover. I used this stuff last night on some red spray paint on my oil based painted garage floor that had been there for a year. I didn't want to use paint thinner because I didn't want to have to paint the floor again. I sprayed this stuff on and let it sit for 5 minutes and came back and wiped it right off with a towel. Amazing stuff and it only has a mild smell to it. You can get a gallon of it at Home Depot for $19. It will not damage your boat either.

I'll have to get me some of that. I shouldn't have much problem getting it off, it's a poor paint job and already starting to chip away pretty easily.

Just wondering has any of guys ever thought of running twin troll motors on your bass raider.. I just saw these boat and thought about my bass raider 10e with twin trolling motors with foot pedals. Check out the websit and give me ideas I think I will try to rig something to work on my raider 10e.

What's an average selling price/value of a used 8' Bass Raider, with the 2 original seats, these days? Thanks.

I got mine for $175 :D

That can't be an average price though. You got a great deal on that.

I think $250 is about what they should be selling for considering you can now get a new one at Academy for $400.

Between 200-$250 considering you can get one new for $400. They even run sales every now and then where you can get them new for $329.

guess i should post my old boat up .the first water craft i owned got it for free. horrible condition cracks all along the pontoons... so Lots and lots of fiberglass work on bottom but she floated good.. also got my hands on a free 54lb troller motor that came off the front of a large pontoon boat. (it was sitting in warehouse at my dads old work, boss said we could have it) got it rigged the best i could up front since it has a pedal.. had to do some customizing on the bracket so it would work on boat but it was sturdy and got that boat movin quick, free lowrance from warehouse aswell..

only had boat out on a few trips but it was fun. got low on money and sold it way to cheap... same story with my 2nd boat a 14ft jon boat that i restored, times is hard.. lost descent bit of money on that sell

I guess I can chime in here and say that I joined the little boat club. Picked up a 10 ft. bass hunter II (I know it's not the same) last night. Came with trolling motor, battery, fish finder, 2 seats, and oar. Been garage kept for it's intire life. All for $150.00. Can't wait to get this out.

Did you hold them up at gun point to get that price??? Nice.

Nah didn't hold them at gun point. Got it from an older couple whom aren't able to fish anymore and they wanted it out of their garage.

Is it OK to store the Bass Raider vertically for 1-2 weeks? If so, would it be better to have it rest on it's side or one of the ends? Thanks.

Hey jbird9009, how many batteries do you use on your raider and how much time on the water do you get out of them. I have two batteries on mine and only get around 3.5 hours total out of the two, running a 55lb trolling motor and a fishfinder.Does that sound about right or do you think I might need new batteries?
