WD40 as a line conditioner

If you spool your reel up with duct tape, you definitely need to hit it with WD-40.

Don't.

Enough said.

Stop spraying lubricant on your line and then putting it in the water to pollute the water.

Who is this guy Ed you are talking about? Never heard of him.

I've been told that he is NOT a stand up guy.

Good one. Wish I had thought of that. I guess you could say that he is hard to get to know.

I've heard of spraying WD-40 on arthritic joints, lot of old folks swear by it. Never heard of using it as a line conditioner. I change my line out pretty regularly so I've never used any line conditioner.

Ole wives tales still in existence. Lol

Back in the 70's I knew fisherman that sprayed their plastic worms with the stuff as an attractant......... that's if they didn't chew tobacco ?

You might have known my uncle. And without a word of a lie he used it on his elbow joints to relieve arthritic pain. He was an old Red Man guy.

Any of the line and lure conditioners I’ve smelled, smells like Armorall. Car seat conditioner. I refuse to use anything on my line. I buy my line in bulk spools.

ahhhhh......this is serious or are we joking here?

People actually use this on their line?

No one I currently know would use WD40 as a line conditioner. Many "old timers" did. I personally would never use it for that purpose, but I was curious if anyone on the forum had ever done so, and what the general consensus is as to that use.

One of the carpenters who framed my house sprayed it on his knee every morning for his arthritis.

I only use it on my reels with Big Game on them. Used together they are full blown magic. ??
