Spring. All of my biggest bass have been caught during that time of year.

"Winter" doesn't mean the same thing down south as it does up here. I'm going to fish in the winter once I retire...but I'm going to drive 8 hours south before I take the rods out of the truck.

being in CA, our winters are kinda wimpy considering what some of you go thru.

 

i bought a dry suit for my kayak and have yet to put it on.  i just stay close to shore winter time.  no deep sea horzion crossing stuff.  

Everything, besides winter 

For me, the most consistent good fishing is late winter/early spring and I suspect Im not alone in that.  Early summer isnt too bad, but usually by the 2nd week in July the humidity kicks in and I cant wait until September comes around the corner.  As the warm light of day slowly retreats in the face of the cool nights, there is a clear pickup in the bite as the fish begin to transition into the fall pattern.  Seldom are the once heavily overpopulated common benny and pennsy, sighted post labor day and once again, us anglers have their wash back.  When hooded sweatshirts see the light of day for the first time in months, the leaves begin to change, culminating in the most beautiful days on the water.  While the fishing isn't as consistent as spring it can be great.  Those first cold days in November have set up some outstanding fishing for me, particularly with a JB.  The challenge of the ever shortening fall-winter bite window makes those good days even better.  Yeah, I think I love the fall.

Mid April to mid June, then mid September to mid October. Best times of year IMO 

Here in FL, early monsoon season. The spring crowds have disappeared and rising water draws fish to the banks and swamps.

 

Second favorite would be late fall for pleasant weather and great inshore gulf fishing.

I love the fall because all the teenagers and kids dissapear from my ponds/lakes I bank fish from. Extremely annoying to deal with in the warmer months. Never can get a pond to myself lol.

Tell me about it.  Most of them are decent people, but if I have to pick up after you every time you go fishing, it doesn't matter how friendly you are, you're disgusting. 

 

My favorite season to fish is sprummer. After the water warms up, but before the naked dude on a paddle board floats past.

People constantly leave water bottles, eagle claw hook packages and one guy the other day even left a big cigar/Marijuana blunt on the pier I took a picture of it lol.

 

 

There's a walmart nearby this pond so I figure a lot of people drive by the lake, go to walmart and decide to be an angler for the day, one guy even left a whole Shakespeare combo and a tackle box one time last year.

I like that term, 'lake lice' mind if I borrow it?

Fall is my favorite time of year, but not for fishing. I like winter fishing in NC. A nice 50 degree day, lake to myself, and seems like all the bites are big.

Gosh, I love this post and I'm going to piggyback T-Billy and say that I love them all. Even winter is wonderful, for that's when I rest, recover, and dream of soft water.

Spring. Something about everything waking up and coming to life. The ice thawing out. The migratory birds coming back, the leaves coming back to the trees... greenery popping up everywhere...

 

There's something deeply symbolic about all of it. It's such a joyful season. 

 

And of course, the fish moving around and all the local waters opening up from the winter frigidity. It's just the best season. 

I love the fall down here in South Florida. There's really no winter to speak of, so the fall weather keeps going throughout the so called winter months, maybe with one or two cold days mixed in lol Fall not only makes for very pleasant fishing in the glades but it also sparks off our annual mullet run as well as our annual shark migration....fishing is off the charts everywhere!
