I raised this question a few months ago when they first came out.

what was the point of this redesign?

they downgraded the guides (not fuji alconite anymore), added foam to the foregrip and didn't give us any new lengths??

kind of an odd redesign no?

All manufacturers are constantly trying to increase margins.  Loomis GLX was redesigned in '16 and they swapped the titanium guides for stainless steel and seemingly no one caught it.

Bingo. I can't think of a single redesign St Croixs done that I liked, except maybe the mojo bass upgrade from SCII to SCIII. Fortunely I've bought quite a few of every variety over the last few years that I dont need any more. May look elsewhere in the future as it seems like every upgrade is an opportunity to cheapen components, reduce amount of cork, and increase price.

I know guides were tough to get a yr or so back. Are all guide manufactures overseas? Wish someone would catch that market here. Seems like with all the manufacturing options these days those could be punched out easily. What do I know.
