After the initial hot spring spinnerbait bite I tone it down . Get rid of the brightness and downsize the blades.

Right now my favorite spinnerbaits are the ones I don't have to make! There are 183 spinnerbait heads sitting on my bench that need painted. Just a little burnt out right now so I don't feel like painting them even though I need to.

I’ve been using the Googan Squad Zingers quite a bit lately - they’ve been really good to me, especially in Bluegill.

 

Other favorite is Strike King Potbelly - they seem to handle the heavy brush around here better than anything else I’ve used over the years.

Hopefully you kept the rear blade as that's what makes them special.

i like the pepper customs too. that bluegill one in lakes without shad it gets bites.

Also had good luck with the chart skirt / chart blades berkley compact spinnerbait I bought on a whim. Smallmouth hit that thing HARD.
