My cadillac reel is probably a Bass Pro Shops Platinum series.

When this reel isn't covered, I can't walk by the rod stand without looking at it.   Custom Ambassadeur 4600C, I call my Black Cherry.  In a kayak frogger niche, 45-lb YGK braid on Avail 5-mm-dee

  • I haven't really gone hog wild on any one super high priced reel. Most are in the 'middle' range price point. I suppose one of the better ones is the Shimano Bantam MGL 150A ~ I use it

For the longest time this was my Cadillac reel, now she’s parked in the garage but I’m thankful for the memories.

I also like the fact that although it’s compact it holds plenty of line regardless of whether it’s mono or braid and lastly the fact it’s an Aluminum frame and available for a little over $100.00

It also has an aluminum handle-side side plate and is new-zillion-smooth.

My Cadillacs.

I’ve always been a sucker for round reels as the Ambassadeur C3s is what I learned baitcasting on.

These little Calcuttas are amazing… waaay smaller than I was expecting.   The Shallow Edition is my favorite of them all.

Never read reviews on 'Cadillac' reels as there's no way I could afford one.  My most expensive reel (both list and my cost as I got it on closeout) is a PXL Type R.  Have it on an Aetos 6'6" MLM and the combo is an absolute pleasure to use..

Reels of mine I consider 'Cadillac'.

Zillion 50th Anniversary

Exsence DC

Steez in 4 models

Helios Air

Bantam MGL

Lew's Pro Z

All purchased used except for the Bantam.  Could add an Airy Red.  Have a dollar and change more in it than the cost of the PXL Type R after tuning and upgrades.

When I want to play with the big girls I pull this out. That's as fancy as I'll be going.

I'll try to figure out how.  It's something I've wanted to do for a long time.
