We’ve had a few conventional campers and about 10 years ago got serious about a truck camper. What we wanted was a molded fiberglass to get away from roof problems. As Bigfoot was closed down at the time we wanted a Northern Lite. While looking we ended finding Escape conventional and went with their 20’ fifth wheel, in layout it’s a 20’ truck camper, saved me needing a $60k truck, and has a real bathroom, sort of. Anyway, if I were to look at them again, it’d be either of the 2 I mentioned above as Bigfoot is back in business.

Bigfoot costs more than the Northern Lite’s but are a step up.

, at least they were. I’ve found there are less issues with fiberglass, real fiberglass, not the fiberglass coated panels, and they hold their value. As such, they are hard to find used and you obviously pay more for them.

fWIW, I did look at the AF conventional campers at one point, nice units, higher priced, and heavy.

We've had an AF 1150 since 2009 w/tip out.  Never had a problem with it.  Very well built, good insulation for both hot and cold weather.  No leaks or structural issues.  Great rig!

Don't think you can go wrong with Artic Fox or Lance.

Get it inspected by someone qualified or you may be in for many problems down the road. I watch this guy and his wife on youtube and learn alot about campers big and small also watch Liz Amazing, all great learning experiences on problems with buying rv"s.

getting ready to drive up to get the camper, Do I need separate insurance? Or my truck insurance will cover? I read in DMV that I don't need to register it but I can not find any link that tell me about insurance. Anyways I am sure the people in dealer will help me also , I just want to be prepared.

Thats color made you see it that way, if both were white you wouldn't say that. anyways the camper is Artic Fox 992 and that's not a big camper by all means.

Oh sure, So far I really like how compact it is and you can drive like you carry nothing with that truck. We cleaned everything last night and starting to move in :)

I am still busy but this weekend we will do shake down trip for two nights and three days and ill report right back.

Second trip, Three days Two nights, Not a single issue with camper and new truck, I am just thinking why I didnt get the camper 10 years ago 🤣.

I was fishing always day and night and sleep in my truck. When I am in camper, It feels very good. You cook, shower and sleep like home.
