Are dealers also trying to make back the costs of making EV,s and now scaling back on ev,s due to slower than anticipated sales they keep gas vehicles high?

I believe that to be more of a manufacturer thing.  IIRC manufacturers have to meet a certain MPG average across their brand.  (I'm not sure how EV's play into this though)   When I worked at a Chevy dealer a person from GM told me they were losing money on Sonic's and Cruze's so they could sell more gas guzzling Suburbans and such.   So, the sub compact was sold at a loss, with the big SUV sold at an inflated profit.   This wasn't on the dealership level though but some dealer incentives were tied to stuff like that.   IE you had to order so many Sonics before you were approved to order a Corvette.

Same here - my first was a 1998 Chevy 1500 Work Truck that I bought new - only new vehicle I've owned in 47 years of driving. Thing was dependable and solid...I'd still be driving it if someone hadn't

Congratulations on your truck. I hope it gives you many, many, miles.

I’ve driven Toyota trucks for 25 years and have covered 600,000+ miles, combined, and have never repaired one.

And so what if my ‘17 Tundra gets the same mileage as my ‘68 GS400 convertible.
