What are the 3 non-mainstream soft plastic colors that work for you?

Featured Replies

Hmm.  Colors.  A tackle companies and bait monkeys dream!  Some colors work great for some, the same colors don't work at all for others.  I'd be happy if all my lures were black...but they're not!  😉

  • The color purple has been my favorite but not just any purple. My purple isn’t wine red purple or dark grape purple, it’s Rit dye #13 purple similar to the old Stren box purple.  Back on the day Vin

Now you done went and done it… you gave out the secret color of the south..haha.
That is one color that works here on St John’s for me.

Ya know, the thing about that color for me is when I’m sure it will matter which isn’t often, I can’t buy a bite.

But after using my “normal” colors pitching to certain targets and the bite dies, I will rig it and a lot of times it can start again.

There’s just something about it but in certain circumstances

Sapphire blue

Plum or Plum Apple

I use a variety of non-traditional colors on my Ned rigs. Some of my favorites are Hot Snakes, Hot Craw, and White Lightning.

I pour a color that the spotted bass can’t resist. Looking down on it, it’s a pale brown. Hold it to the light and it’s purple. No flake
