Anybody ever use one of these Ninja Grass Blades on their trolling motor? This video shows it on a transom mount TM. Looks like it works really well. But wondering if it would work for a foot controlled TM as well. 
 

I’ve got a buddy that we fish some heavy, dense grass lakes. It’s a constant struggle with pulling up the TM to clear off salad. Doesn’t matter if it’s my lil Jon boat with my transom mount TM or his Bass Tracker with his foot controlled. Both trolling motors really get bogged down with grass. But it’s worth it. There’s also tons of bass in these lakes. 😁

I had two on my older model Ultrex and it worked fine in really thick hydrilla, but with one caveat. I had to trim the TM lower unit just below the water line, otherwise the hydrilla would hang and build up where the shaft meets the lower unit. If that happened the only way to remove them would be manually, or a grass chopper shaft type blade like: https://a.co/d/5ZiolyQ

 

But the NGB worked great when keeping the TM trimmed up. 

@Junger thanks for info. Yep, keeping the TM lower unit higher in water column helps overall even without the Ninja grass cutter. Still at times, gotta raise it & physically remove the slop & salad. 
 

But for around $30, I’m willing to give it a try. Thanks again. 

I have one in my autopilot kayak. I would struggle from may to October without it. A ninja blade and weedless wedge prop will get through most stuff. Buildup on the nose cone is a problem, especially for me where the motor is below the hull. But there is nothing you can do about that. 

I’ve been using the grass blade since 2014 on my bow mounts. I think it works great and I will always have one on my trolling motor.

Bought one to try just need to install once I get my boat back.

Works fine chopping up the pad stalks. Same with grass, trim up the TM so that the cut stalks don't stack up on the lower unit and shaft, otherwise you'll have to remove them manually.

one of the better things for it.  The super thick stalks that are thumb sized it struggles a little, but will get through them.  Thinner pads like spatterdock are easier.

 

Where it struggles is with super thin wispy things like algaes.  It gets between the prop and blade so it doesn't cut well.
