Rods for Carolina rig?

What are the features everyone likes for throwing carolina rigs?

Length.. At least 7'3, longer the better for casting with long leader and hookset. MH to H with slightly slower taper for better leader( i use mostly 10-12lb) protection. I even use a rod close to 9ft for it.

Mine are custom built NFC MB807 blanks spiral wrapped.  8ft, lures to 1.25oz.  Very light.  8ft for long leaders and line pick up on the hookset.  Veeery soft tip so you don't yank it away but brutal power lower down.  I've stopped boats on snags on the St Lawrence and the rod didn't whimper.

20lb fluorocarbon to a 12-17lb mono leader.  Phenix Rock crawler OR finesse weights and spro swivels.  If I am feeling sassy I run a Ryugi Beats tungsten weight.

stout, good sensitivity, a good tip to fling all that nonsense swinging around.

I agree with others, 7ft 2 or longer.  I personally use a Steeze BC2  and 12lb. flouro.

I do away with all the hardware and use a Carolina keeper.

My Carolina setup is Assegai 7'6"  F/MH with Skeet Resse Icon reel with 15#braid and 10# FC leader

I use an ALX Zolo Dragger at 7’4”.  On a regular bass boat I use 17 lb fluorocarbon with a 10 lb mono dropper.

On a kayak I still use the mono dropper, but tie to 30 lb braid. You can’t take that extra step backward in a kayak to lay the lumber to them on the hook set, so I go with the no stretch braid. It frays easier than fluoro so you have to check it/re-tie more frequently.

I also use a  7.1 Tatula Elite reel which is key to get maximum casting distance when throwing the old ball and chain.

falcon lowrider or bucoo lizard dragger. they are only 7 ft but work great i throw them both. can also be used as heavy texas rig also.
