yes, the weedless in a 1/0 I think.  On a crossover ring and a janitor.

I’m a recent convert to the crossover ring/tool system, just curious on the ability to reuse them. Also, I have several bags of the large FlickShake worm, wondering what ring size works better, I’m guessing a 6 but that’s a guess. TIA..

I don't have any experience otherwise with a neko so I wanted to start from a proven solution and just went straight to the full VMC setup.

That's the size that TW lists for the 6.8" flickshake so I think that's the right one.  I got 4 and 5 since it was going to be for smaller worms.  I might end up with some 6's eventually but let's catch a few on it first.

Got out again, this time using a 1/19th oz G-nius Project nail screw and an Owner Sniper Finesse Weedless Neko. Note the longer shank compared to the Ryugi Talisman. I prefer the Owner hook. The titanium weed guards are significantly longer, too. The worms are Missile Baits Dream Worm.

I caught one quite quickly. I can only presume it got it on the drop because it was very nearly gut hooked and required some delicate forcep work.

After that, things were quiet with no other bites.

Going to continue experimenting.

Would like to try some Grandebass, but no distributor in Canada. Seems to be a "Gold Standard" Neko bait so I'd like to try one.

I have some T-Macs available to me, so those will be tested as well this week. Another highly regarded offering.

I only use the the flickshake 4.8 and VMC crossover ring.003-004.

The rings are as durable as a Goodyear tire.

Seems to be mixed feelings on whether they are or not, but I’m vested now 😂

I've had 4mm slide off my 4.8 and 5.8 Flick Shake when Wacky Rigged.

Can not comment on Neko rigged.

Fished again today in worse conditions. Very windy. Water very dirty.

I'm not sure if this is a dirty water bait due to small bait size and water displacement? Can anyone comment on this?  I certainly don't have colors for dirty water on hand. I do have a Junebug coming which might be better for dirty water. Everything I have is natural/GP.  I might put one of my tiny crappie rattles in.

Caught one fish after much grinding and that was it. Not even another bite.

I continue to be enamored with how well it comes through grass. It comes through cover of all type beautifully.

I like fishing it so far...

That’s awesome! Nice catch! Only thing I have found I don’t like about it. Is having to fish it on spinning gear. That’s all

Today I can only describe as "difficult" in terms of using the Neko. All due to equipment failure/limitation, for lack of a better word.

Fished several hours today. Lost the worm AND weight when it flew off during a cast. Was using a Geecrack Neko Hack on a 6" Magic Worm. The Neko Hack was left intact on the hook so I can only assume it pulled through the bait. Disappointing. Next I lost worm and weight when something grabbed the tail and just swam away with it. Was using a 5mm Crossover on a Deception Worm. 5mm seems right as the bait is squeezed. 4mm seemed far too tight. So it seems the bait just slid out. And a 3rd weight was lost when it tore out of the baits nose somehow.

So all together, 3 lost worms and 3 lost weights.

Oh..didn't catch a fish, either.

Man I’m sorry to hear that. That’s a tough day. I use o rings.  So it helps a lot. But that’s exactly why I spiny buy the $4 for a pack of 10 weights and use nails lol

i like the talisman but im with you on the sniper finesse. Ithink its the best neko hook out there.

Don't you think heat shrink would be better?

I use O rings but I'd like to buy some heat shrink. Just need to find the right kind/size, I prefer clear.

For Wacky and Neko, I use vinyl tubing cut to length and rigged using a 'nasal speculum'. I find that 7mm diameter works for most of the worms I use, dropping to 5mm for Zoom Finesse Worms.

Note; this is pretty much the same as the kits costing $20 for a tool and around 20 cut tubes, but I pay under $10 for 10' of the tubing which will net you 240 pieces 1/2" long which should last you a while.

The tool itself is a standard medical instrument, the Large is the one I use, and it too is under $10.

Awesome, I'll take a look.

For Wacky and Neko

Something to keep in mind here is the brand of plastic stick bait being used in each application.  When I Neko rig, the brand doesn't matter because the weight is what's giving the plastic its action.  It's gonna sink regardless.  I use off brands a lot when I Neko rig.

When I wacky rig (no weight), I often use the yamamato brand.  They have a better natural fall rate but the durability is worse.

Add a light weight and the action of many non Yama stickbaits improves quite a bit. I usually use a 1/16oz wacky jighead with Zoom Trick Worms...it doesn't increase the ROF much, but it does get those ends wiggling much better.

Missle Baits Magic worm is made by Roboworm just a little fatter, excellent worm.

Keeping mind Neko is a new name for the old nail weight worm. Cut off about 3/16” flattenthe worm nose, then. Inset your nail weight so the worm stands up!

Tom

While preparing for tomorrow, I had s really good look at the NetBait TMac worm. And I think it's my favorite thus far. So I compared it to Missile Baits Dream Worm which is quite nice. It's a collaboration with Roboworm.  First, the Tmac is just slightly more substantial in girth. And .5" longer for a total of 6.5". I like that the entire body is ribbed. It just feels more substantial, more durable.

It also comes 20 to a pack and is impregnated with Bait Fuel...which I like.

For those who have fished both, they say the Tmac is a good substitute for a Grandebass.

Thus far..early impressions are good!

T Mac reminds me of trickworm. I like the looks of it and the magic worm. That said I’d buy either on sale lol. For a much bigger and bulkier neko worm. Look at missle baits quiver 6.5 I like it as well
