Favorite Bullet Weights?

A much smaller size for how heavy it is.

They also make more noise, especially when combined with a glass bead.

Almost everyone is using tungsten weights, surprising. I've never tried them. I do have one I found and I'll try it. Heck, it's not uncommon for me to lose a texas rigs. I lost one today. $2 each per weight will add up quick for me, so what is the advantage over lead?

Also better sensitivity. There’s a noticeable difference in feel along the bottom. Plus I don’t love the idea of spreading little chucks of lead across the lakes I fish.

I reckon I'll have to try them out.

These and the flipping weights are all I have/need. 1/16 to 1 oz.

Titan Tungsten, but been using Motely as well.

Ive used quite a few different brands.  I've had trouble with 2 companies having poorly polished weights that chip line up, Eco and TD.

Swagger made great no chip flip and bullet weights, but for whatever reason TW doesn't carry them anymore or they went out of business.  Woo is a god alternative.

Picasso has always made good quality tungsten.  You get good feedback with their slick core weights, and they also offer insertless.

My favorite tungsten brand is Reins.  Their tungsten weights have inserts, don't know how they do it but they have as much sensitivity as any other bran without them.  Always loved the sliding football heads.  If they weren't so expensive I would probably just use them.

Well, I have tried a tungsten weight that I found. I assume it's tungsten, its heavier for size than lead, and just barely magnetic. It's extremely hard too.

The advantage for me is the size to weight ratio. It's only a little more sensitive but I haven't found that to be an advantage since I'm using mono, and all of the places I fish are pretty soft bottoms.

When you say eco do you mean eco pro?

Same here, in no-chip.

Not much to add here, other than that I have mostly switched to tungsten for many of the same reasons mentioned above. I do still have some brass around too and remember fishing the "Brass n glass" that Tom mentioned.

The majority of the tungsten I have came from Sieberts as well

VMC Tungsten exclusively.  Right combo of price, size selection and durability for me.

yep

I think that's all they make it in, no chip or raw.

Dang. That’s not good. I’ve got a bunch of eco pro tungsten in various weights that I bought probably over a decade ago. I’ve never had any issues but I guess I’ll have to keep an eye out.

Is the part that chips up the line something you can see with the naked eye? @GetFishorDieTryin

I have used Elite brand tungsten weights for a few years. Last year, I lost a few in snags so I bought a bunch from Siebert Outdoors. They were the best price and can buy them in 10 or individually if memory serves and they’re as good as any others I’ve used.

I appreciate all the brand suggestions. Siebert is looking good. I am checking out their jigs too.

BPS lead ones in GP are what I use most.  As many as I lose in the river I couldn't afford to only use tungsten . For places I don't lose a lot of baits I have a bunch of BPS tungsten bullets I bought years ago cheap.

I've lost five or more Texas rigs on one quick trip to the river.

Yeah the river giveth and taketh away is pretty much how it goes, after a little while you get more in tune with what is hiding on the bottom wether it be rocks laid out oddly or snaggy debris such as limbs and other storm debris reclaimed by nature. But the thing to remember is that what takes your tackle is also relatable cover for the fish. Just got put in the time to find what pieces they are hiding near. I use to avoid certain spots because I would always lose stuff if I tried to target that specific cover, although try as I might I would still end up fishing it and lose some tackle but it usually produced fish when I did. I lost quite a bit to it but to me it was worth it, well most of the times until my crank baits found there ways into trees sometimes lol. Or as I call it the wall of shame lol. You leave fish behind if you’re afraid of losing stuff but hey it’s a good reason to try something new bait wise if you lost a lure that you had.

Like my dad used to say, “if you ain’t getting snagged you ain’t near the fish”.
