Slimy Zoom Flukes

I have several bags of Zoom Super Flukes that are excessively slimy. They appear to have oil on them? Most of the flukes I have are dry, but these are soaked in this oil. Several bags of baby bass color. All recently purchased from Walmart.

Usually they put just enough to keep them from sticking to themselves, but from time to time you’ll get a batch where they got a little happy with the oil. With Zoom I’ve seen it happen most often in Flukes and Z Craws, but it can happen to all of them.

So is it mold release applied to the mould, or oil applied to the bag? Or do they use the same oil for both?

Does it actually soak into the plastic? It appears so... but I can't tell for sure. I do know, that the flukes that have a lot of the oil in bag slide off the hook easier.

They oil the molds, then lightly mist them in the packaging process. Far as I know, it’s the same oil.

Some that add scent afterward are REALLY bad - I like Chompers baits, but there’s enough oil and garlic in that bag to cover a typical Olive Garden for a year.

Bizz baits is the same way. I open a bag of any of their baits and Dracula won't come within 10 miles of my boat.

Dump them on a paper towel and blot with another one if that bothers you.

Its just a light oil to keep the plastics from bunching up and setting a bend in them.  Zoom is just one of those companies that either puts hardly any in the bag or a whole bunch.

I have some baby brush hogs that are soaked in what I am guessing is worm oil.  Wash them off along with the bag if it bothers you.
