Z-Man Micro Max bladed jig, Which Trailer?

Featured Replies

I bought 3 different colored Micro Max 3/16oz chatterbaits. Not sure which trailer to use or which length trailer. Would a 2”, 2.8” or 3” trailer be ideal?

either of the two longer ones will be good.  a 2" might be a little short depending what you're going for.

For specific trailers, the lake fork shad in 3" is a good shout.  A tail from a longer straight tail worm (like a trick worm) is also a good choice.  I haven't tried it, but the short spunk shad might work though the body is fairly thick still. And of course the tiny zako.

I like a 3” Berkley Powerbait minnow on them. They have a nice subtle flowing movement and last just about forever as a trailer.

I use a 3". And I'm extremely fond of the Raid Fish Roller 3". And what an exquisite bait it is!

It was designed for strolling, so it flashes when rolled. The colors change markedly when rolled and it appears to flash.  And the tail is ridiculously "wiggly"...the type that wiggles in hand all by itself when you hold it by the head. Eyes are excellent and flash. Attention to detail off the charts for a small bait.

I've use it both on the Flashback Mini (since the Flashback is essentially a hover stroller) and on the plain Micro.

I have no complaints whatsoever. Ok..price. Maybe.
