This water looks pretty awesome, lot of cypress lot of weeds etc. People are driving 1-2 hours to get to their spots and having to go thru locks. I saw Brock Mosely catch a jammer of a white bass way back in some backwaters

the water looks good, but 40% of the angler's have caught a fish yet and the bulk of the anglers who did are going to weigh in 8-12lb bags for the day. 5-9 fish caught to get a 10 lb bag isn't going to make me come fish it.

Also, what the heck is tucker smith doing that he caught 17 bass already?

I had some buddies that used to camp there, apparently it was great fishing in the 90s but they said if a barge is coming you must seek shelter immediately. The entire waterway is manmade for shipping so they will run you over and/or swamp you. Some analyst they had on earlier said 30 lb bags were weighed in back then, now much of the grass is gone

I thought Jason Christie might be a player in this one. He’s a “just go fishing” kinda guy with lots of shallow cover which is what this looks like. He’s not out of it 7lb back with 2 days left but that feels like a lot to pick up here.

If you haven't figured it out by now - these boys didn't make it to the elites solely by being able to read a forward facing sonar.

Bill Lowen lost his boat plug , hes trying to improvise.

He removed the float from his key chain and stuffed it in the hole.

Still waiting for someone to throw a swim worm around the shallow grass. It’s an absolute weapon down here in the spring. Everyone is too tied to the swim jig.

Love the zoom ulta vibe

Dirty shallow water feels like I’m home in south jersey! Minus the cypress. Ike having a good tournament but struggling today.

Also seeing Christie and Feider sharing water and talking to each other… I’m trying to imagine my Korean in-laws listening to that conversation and I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t understand a single word they’re saying lol

Ike weighed in a huge spotted bass in one of the early rounds, I think it was day 1. I saw a pic online, I bet that was one heck of a fight

Doesnt seem like the type of water for spotted bass.

The dreaded “Alabama bass” is native to the mobile drainage. We catch them every year on the Alabama River between Montgomery and mobile, they are a blast. They will pummel a buzzbait in inches of muddy boiling hot water . They do seem to thrive in deep clear blueback herring lakes but they are very comfortable in shallow vegetation or cypress swamps. This is one of my favorite tournaments from the past to watch with spotted bass, Steve Kennedy catching them in the rapids!!!!

Only places I catch them are on the Ozark lakes. I thought deep clear lakes was where they thrived.
