I guarantee this reel will cast longer, than any other reel, and never backlash. I also have some excellent farmland with a shallow well in the middle of the dessert for sale if you are interested.

I was gonna quote you asking you how the hell can you guarantee it casting further than everything else (have heard this exact sentence in the youtube comments glazing the new Abu DC's), and then i understood the situation😊

I set spool tension normal and VERY loose.

There is no point in setting any spool tension so loose. You keep emphasizing it like it means something. There is only tension or no tension, and if there is tension then how much tension. The spool doesn't spin any faster making the knob looser than necessary to remove tension.

I wish it was a little smaller and lower profile, but first impression is the system works.

They've had this system for several years and this is the smaller of the reels. IIRC they show the mechanism in that video posted above, it's fairly large. Size will likely always be a negative to some, especially compared to today's tiny reels.

I could see a use for the reel when fishing dark nights when you can’t really see your lure in flight that well.

That's my favorite feature of ceramic bearings.....the fact I can hear them.

For those that are not bats, though, some people just run higher tension and brakes and/or thumb the spool continuously at night. Maximum distance usually isn't a huge consideration in most night time fishing applications.

Some of you still have to see the lure to brake the spool with your thumb? Don't you feel the spool decelerating before hitting the water? I don't know if its just experience or what, but half the time i don't even pay attention to the lure hitting (unless casting around structure of course) the water, you can feel when its time to stop the spool with your thumb.

1. Why would anyone who knows how to use baitcasters care about a so called backlashless reel when you know how to use a normal baitcaster?

2. No reel will be able to cast at max distances if it cannot backlash. It's simply not a thing that can be achieved.

3. Just listen to this reel while he is casting in the youtube video. It sounds like a Temu $30 noname reel.

This is a technology, if sold to Daiwa or Shimano, i see them refining it, and come out with something that could possible, MAYBE be worth it. When installed on a Temu reel... no thanks.

Since your a highly accomplished professional I'm sure you've never blew one up. I've been at it over 40 years and I'm not ashamed to admit I did it Saturday casting one of those ignorant Coike's.

Max distance ? step on the trolling motor . If you've ever fished with FFS you can see how far they will come to get a bait , 20 feet one way or the other ain't gonna matter.

Getting a backlash once in a while is not important, and i usually don't even pay attention to that, unless it's so bad that you need to cut your line, which hasn't happened to me in over 5 years. The issue is getting constant backlashes, and that's never the case. I mostly fish from the bank, so no trolling motor to step on lol. So yea, casting distance is extremely important, and one of the reason i don't even use SV spools.

There’s a video out there by the company talking about all of the time and money wasted by all other baitcast users due to all of the line needing to be cut out every year.

I suppose that’s their attempt at justifying the cost but it comes off as very late night infomercial rather than serious marketing to a discerning audience. There is a market for this reel, but does the relatively high price and poor distribution network get the reel into the hands of that market.

I only have to cut out line once or twice a year.. when I hit a bush.

I could hit a bush with this reel.

Probably just your vast experience and extreme fishing skills.
