What knot do you tie when you can't tie a palomar knot?

I agree with above. the Palomar isn't the best choice for FLouro.

I cannot pull the knot tight without one half cinching down first, looking out the remaining loop.

I rarely tie a Palomar. 98% of my knots are Improved Clinch.

Improved clinch for mono and Palomar knot for braid. I know tying a Palomar around a larger bait is a hassle but I’ve never had one fail if tied correctly

My 2 cents is the “San Diego Jam” knot. I just learned about it and I love it. I am now using it regardless on the line.

Palomar for me. Cranks and jerkbaits have their line - tie split ring removed, and i use a cross-lok snap for those. Braid or mono. Don't use floro...

I rarely use the palomar. For a drop shot I will, for hook placement.

Most of the time I use one of 3 knots. The Trilene knot, the Pitzen, or the Kreh Loop knot.

I use the Trilene knot for things like jigs, hooks, frogs, and crankbaits. It doesn't need to the tag end trimmed.

I use the Pitzen for mostly stuff like crankbaits. Use it for everything if I'm tying in the wind, dark, or rain.

I use the Kreh loop for jig heads, hooks, Rapala minnows.

I haven't got a clue as to their strength. I use them because of convenience of tying or because they meet the application. I use all 3 with all 3 types of line.

It’s a uni knot with an extra wrap around the eyelet. That extra wrap makes a huge difference in knot strength.

Ahh... I see it now, thanks. Might have to try that. The double wrap is one of the reasons I've stuck with the palomar.

Nobody using the reverse clinch knot? I tried it today with initially running the line thorough the eye twice. It was fairly easy to tie and seemed strong.
